Out of nowhere, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 have appeared on the Xbox store for PC with support for Xbox achievements.

Surprise! Two more classic Call of Duty titles have appeared on the Xbox store for PC: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and Modern Warfare 3 (2011). We can also confirm that both Windows versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 support Xbox achievements, which means you can now earn Gamerscore in PC versions of some of the best Xbox first-person shooters.

Earlier this week, Call of Duty: United Offensive, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare received surprise PC launches on the Microsoft Store, sparking hopes that Activision could be gearing up to add its old games to Game Pass. Now, the same treatment has been given to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), though unlike the other ports, these versions actually support Xbox achievements.

These new Windows versions appear to be the full package, with one small caveat: cross-platform multiplayer is not supported. However, for the first time, you will be able to earn Gamerscore in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 on PC. The PC achievement lists for both games are the same as their counterparts on console, so if you've already earned the 1,000G from each game, you'll know exactly what to expect.

For those interested, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is listed on the Microsoft Store for $19.99 / £16.79, whereas Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is priced at $39.99 / £32.99 for the standard version and $59.99 / £49.99 for the Collection Bundle with all DLC.

One thing to note here is that while Modern Warfare 2 has no DLC achievements, there are three DLC packs for Modern Warfare 3 that do feature achievements. These have not been split out from the Modern Warfare 3 list below.
